A free downloadable app.
When the app is downloaded a user can create a profile by manual entry or via linking in by Facebook.
The app allows users to see and search by category participating locally owned businesses and view their online profile, see list of local events, see list of local participating non-profits. If the user has made donations to a participating charity (outside of app) they will have points (each point equals $1 of potential discount) that will be used to get a discount at the participating locally owned businesses.The app will generate a discount coupon at time of purchase that follows the discount parameters which are:
1. discounts are never more than 50% of pretax purchase price
2. discounts are never more than $50
3. discounts are only generated in 5 point increments
4. the user must have points in their account to generate a discount
Once a transaction takes place the user has the ability to recommend a business and comment publicly if the review is positive. If they do not wish to recommend they can write why they had bad experience and the owner of the business will receive the comment confidential.
When a discount transaction has taken place the discount points transfer from the user to the business owners account.
Points can be used for discounts or be transferred to friends.
All friends must be requested and accepted, a process done via the app.
The app will list all donations made (done outside of app) list schedule of any upcoming donations (done outside of app), and list discount transactions that have taken place.
The app will allow people to chose what charitable organisation the user wants to donate to, decide if they want to donate one time or set up a reoccurring donation and see how many points they would get as a free gift for their donation. The actual donation process takes place outside of the app with a third party payment system.
